ONE WEEK IN CHIANTI COUNTRYSIDE VILLA
WITH 3 or 4 COOKING CLASSES
An incredibly fun experience of Cooking classes in a fully-equipped kitchen of 18thcentury Villa. An authentic Italian cooking course, all in English, in a magnificent Tuscan villa in the Chianti region. Italy has a neverending tradition of excellent food. We have had the treasure of these flavors through the generations, that in time will slip away if not mantained.
Have you ever been in a vineyard? Have you ever seen an olive grove? …and do you know how to use olive oil and Chianti wine in daily meals? Come and join us!! At the property where wine and oil producers, you will discover the growing cycles of wines and olive trees, tasting and cooking with them!
Learn how to enhance delicious recipies with olive oil and chianti wine. Enjoy cooking the simplest and tasty dishes of the tuscan tradition using fresh and local ingredients. Make your own bruschetta fettunta, crostini, panzanella, zuppa lombarda or pappa al pomodoro… and rolling tagliatelle, ravioli, and much more.
The Villa where you’ll be hosted is on an estate which has 340 acres of vineyards and olive groves. There are 8 double bedrooms and bathrooms available. The cooking course includes accommodation based on two people sharing a double room with a private bathroom. Single people are provided with a double bedroom for single use. There is no extra charge, but the bathroom is beside the room. Inside the Villa is very spacious and… all for your personal use!
From the big garden you have a stunning views of the gentle rolling hills that lead to the ancient towers of S.Gimignano. The garden gives access to the panoramic swimming pool.
Come and live for one week, combining a holiday with a cooking school, learning and relaxing by the pool in our luxurious grounds. The hands-on experience in the kitchen is enriched by guided art tours in Florence and Siena and by the discovery of the surroundings such as S.Gimignano, Monteriggioni or Pisa.
Lisa or Elaine will guide you on 4 cooking lessons of 3 hours each. You will learn how to use olive oil in its natural state or in cooking, how to enhance your cooking with wine, how to use fresh or wild aromatic herbs such as sage, rosemary, the wild nepitella, laurel and much more …
Every day you will explore a complete menu from appetizers to desserts. You will learn how to prepare risotto and fresh pasta, such as ravioli and tagliatelle, and the art of making sauces such as fresh basil pesto, duck sauce, zucchini and saffron and fresh cheese sauce and tasty second dishes such as chicken with dry tomatos and olives, pork fillet with grapes, every kind of vegetables, flan and desserts as tiramisù, panna cotta, torta di semolino (a type of grain), ricotta cake or other recipies.
Every day you will be guided through different aspects of the Tuscan cuisine: ingredients, techniques and traditions, discovering their secrets and tasting new flavors. With her enthusiasm and her passion for cooking, Lisa or Elaine will follow the progress of each participant, making every lesson a fantastic creative experience. Finally prepare your going away dinner to celebrate the end of your cooking week experience, you will be given all the recipes of the course and you’ll get your Certificate in Culinary Art!
- DAY 2
A guided walk in our olive groves from where our extra-virgin olive oils are produced followed by lunch with oil tasting.
In the afternoon, your first class with your teachers Lisa and Elaine, professional Chefs who will teach you how to use the extra-virgin olive oil in daily meals to give every course the right aroma. Dinner in the garden with stunning views!
- DAY 3
A guided walk in our vineyards with Patrizia to learn to distinguish the different varieties of vines where our wines come from!! See our cellars and acquire all the secrets about the wine processing. Have a wine sampling of all our red wines with lunch. In the afternoon, your second class with Lisa where you will learn how to enhance your cooking with wine! Dinner under the century old horse chestnut tree with the view of ancient towers of S.Gimignano.
- DAY 4
A full day in Florence including a 3 hours long walking tour with an Official Guide illustrating the main sites and monuments of the historical centre of the town. Dinner in Florence to discover the true pizza napoletana.
- DAY 5
Come for a walk in our beautiful tuscan countryside and gather the fresh wild aromatic herbs. On the way back, Patrizia will teach you how to create unusual table settings for the pleasure of your guests!! After your lunch, your third cooking class.
Lisa or Elaine will teach you how to make delicious pasta and… other delicious recipies with aromatic herbs to give your own food a touch of “Tuscanity”. Dinner ‘al fresco’ in the garden.
- DAY 6
a Lazy day in which you can choose to pass it relaxed at the fantastic pool, explore the surroundings, visit the ceramic laboratory of a great artist and spend time in the kitchen to prepare a special dinner with your chefs Lisa and Elaine to celebrate the end of your weekly cooking experience
- DAY 7
A full day in Siena and a delicious dinner at the Fattoria. Patrizia will cook for you a great dinner to discover the taste of the old Tuscan tradition. She will reveal you recipes and techniques passed down from generation to generation over the centuries. And now let’s have a dinner all together!
- DAY 8
Breakfast and transfer to Certaldo train station.
