Description

An old colonic stone house situated in one of the most enchanting regions for its historical, artistic and cultural richness: in the heart of Tuscany, between Siena and Florence, only 7 km far from the city of the famous Palio.

Its position is particularly unique, since it is located in a protected area managed for landscape protection and recreation. The house is protected by Monuments and Fine Arts Office for it has preserved its historical, architectural as well as environmental identity throughout the times.

At your arrival, you will be received by Paolo and Giuseppina who personally and homely manage the property.

It was built in 1300 as a Medieval Tower and subsequently two additional side buildings were made, giving a typical “horseshoe” shape to the whole structure. This building was a gift of a famous architect from Siena at that time, together with other surrounding buildings, such as the most famous church “Pieve di San Giovanni Battista”, still highly appreciated for many wedding celebrations.

The building is at the gates of Siena, a strategic position on the eastern slopes of Montagnola, on the boundaries of Monteriggioni and Sovicille, the old road Via Francigena near Florence and San Gimignano, the famous town with its 14 medieval towers. The surrounding landscape is exceptionally beautiful, with vineyards, olive gorves, woods and sunflower fields where all the colors of nature rhythmically turn as the seasons change. The colonic house has been restored respecting the original architectural features, combining the luxury of modern facilities to ensure the comfort and the quiet of our guests’ stay.

ACCOMMODATION:
the house has been designed to ensure very good privacy and has 2 independent apartments with two bathrooms and few rooms elegantly restored and furnished that we suggest for those travellers who may love and look for some privacy.

All the rooms are spacious and bright and elegantly furnished respectfully of the historical features of the structure. They are equipped with private bathrooms, Satellite TV, minibar, bedside tables, wardrobe, writing desk with a comfortable chair, where you may stop the time for a while, taking notes of all the colours, flavours and emotions of your holiday.

THE APARTMENTS
The two apartments with independent accesses, have been restored in a farmhouse style, respectful of the historical features of the original structure, reusing the original rafters and tiles with unplastered walls.
Thanks to the accurate furnishing, it will be like going back in time.

1^ Apartment (2+2)
It has two access doors, two double rooms with two bathrooms, a new kitchen in poor art style equipped with oven and a sofa bed and satellite TV.

2^ Apartment (3+2)
It has one double and one single room with two bathrooms.
The spacious living room has a kitchen in poor art style with oven and a sofa bed and satellite TV.

AMENITIES:
The garden is the real jewel of the whole structure, carefully attended and giving very pleasant wellness sensations and the only wake-up you may hear in the mornig, is the birds singing at the sunrise.

Since they both love good food, Giuseppina may prepare, upon your request, typical Tuscan cuisine based dinners, such as a good “beefsteak Florentine style” (a T-bone steak traditionally taken from either the Chianina or Maremmana breeds of cattle), or the roasted “Cinta senese” (roasted pork of a typical Sienese variety of medieval origins), preceded by the typical Tuscan hors d’oeuvres, crostini (small pieces of toast) as well as the Tuscan various kinds of cold measts and salami.
