I am in the tourism business for many years, giving hospitality mainly to schools and groups of young foreigners, organizing for them trekkings, italian language courses, visits to farmohouses in the Chianti area, with wine and oil tastings, movie-tours in the locations of films shot in Florence and Tuscany. I have been through a lot with them but I also had much fun and I made friends all over the world. This is the reason why I believe more in "travel" than in "tourism" and I try to show to my guests-friends also people, not only places, the emotional territory off the beaten tracks rather then the well known and standardised Baedeker itineraries. Wim Wenders once said: «travellers see a place and listen to it. They are really there. Tourists are always at home, even if their bodies are travelling: they actually never go in any place».
